Community Impact

Many women choose to stay in abusive situations due to not having the financial means to leave.

Making a Difference

As we work to acquire funding & properties, we are actively providing supportive and educational services to the community with the help of your generous donations.

In 2020:

"Valentine’s Day Self-Love Jars"- 40 Self Love Care packages were created and given to domestic violence survivors as a gesture of healing and empowerment.

Short-Term Emergency Shelter Assistance - One family received monetary payment assistance while temporarily displaced from home for a stay in a motel.

Childcare payment assistance – One family received assistance with finding stable childcare and monetary assistance for fee payments as she began employment after feeing an abusive relationship.

Virtual Support Group Meetings- Meetings that were previously in person were moved to a virtual platform due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, providing a Safe Space to share experiences for DV Survivors & their children, every month and a gift card raffle.

Fight Like a Survivor: DV Awareness Calendar- In recognition of DV awareness month, survivors and allies were selected to be featured in a calendar for fundraising and to educate the community about domestic violence.

2nd Annual SSPM Holiday Toy Drive- providing gifts to 38 children who have been directly impacted by Domestic Violence.

"Thriver's Heart Program"- Donations of furniture, household items, baby and clothing were collected for disbursement to DV survivors transitioning out of shelters.

All of these events/services are financed entirely by our staff and via monetary donations from supporters like you.

A helping hand

Knowing that help is available could be the deciding factor on whether a woman chooses to leave an abusive environment.  Survivors having the support and encouragement that they need as they transition through this period of time can help them to feel empowered to take control of their lives.

Our "Thriver's Heart Program" provides Domestic Violence Survivors with a head start on rebuilding their lives by providing clothing and household goods from donors in the community.

To donate clothing, shoes, furniture or other household goods or to apply for the program click the link below.
